Chris Bull

Chris Bull is a strategy, operations and change consultant who has established himself as one of the leading advisors to legal businesses in the dynamic and innovative UK market as well as in the US and internationally.

Chris’s relationship with Edge International stretches back to 2011, when he first joined Edge and began his law firm consulting practice. He works not only as a consultant on strategically significant engagements, but also as a retained advisor, non-executive director, mentor, facilitator and conference producer and chair.

With a career that underlines his reputation as a legal market pioneer and innovator, his contribution to clients is neatly summarised under the banner of ‘bringing business best practice to the legal sector’.  Career headlines include having worked for all four of the Big Four accounting/consulting firms, being one of the first partner-level Chief Operating Officers at a law firm, overseeing some of the largest global Legal Process Outsourcing deals, advising on the launch of a series of high-profile Alternative Business Structure (ABS) externally funded legal businesses and creating multiple successful industry initiatives and events.

Chris has specialist skills in business strategy execution, operations, organisation design, sourcing, strategic technology and business transformation drawing on almost 25 years’ legal sector experience.

One of the busiest speakers and writers on the business of law, Chris is in demand as a keynote presenter, producer, Chair and panelist at major conferences in Europe and the USA and is the author of a series of reports on legal business.  His presentation ‘The Age of Agile: how can mid-tier law firms compete?’ has been delivered to multiple audiences. Chris also debuted the in-depth strategic workshop for Boards and Executive teams, ‘The 2020s Challenge: the 20 Questions Law Firm Boards have to answer’ in 2019.

Chris is retained by leading international law firm network Lex Mundi to deliver content to over 100 leading law firms globally around topics such as Legal Operations, Legal Project Management and Analytics.

In 2018 Chris joined forces with two of the other leading lights of the UK’s legal innovation and technology world to create The Intuity Alliance (https://www.intuityalliance.com/), a unique alliance of cutting-edge LegalTech, Innovation and Digital Strategy capability.

He co-created and produces the annual Alternative Tech & Innovation Leaders Summit, a unique gathering of innovation leaders from across the UK’s largest professional service firms: law, accounting, consulting and real estate.
